meet the gigi + lu team

Hello there! I’m Gretchen, a surface designer from Minnesota. I live with my husband, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. My family is my everything but cheese is my true love. 

When I was growing up I wanted to be an architect, then a photographer, then I finally found my true passion for design when I stumbled upon a local stationery shop. I soon learned the world of invitation design and set off on a wild ride. After 13 years of working for someone else, I started my own award winning design business, Gretchen Berry Design Co - creating one-of-a-kind invitations,  branding, logos, event swag…just about everything. 

While I still take on some of that work - I have turned most of my attention to drawing and designing patterns. I’ve always loved making patterns for clients and seeing my work come to life, like with Gatherberry Goods - is what makes me happy. I just love it….almost as must as I love cheese!

Who’s Gigi + Lu? My husband calls me “Gigi” (short for Gretchen Getlin) and I call my English Bulldog “Lu” (short for Luna). You can almost always find me designing with Lu curled up on my lap. I make my husband happy, my dog makes me happy, and I hope to make you happy with my designs.
